When a claim occurs, insurance adjusters come in to investigate the claim, determine if it is covered, and if so, how much to pay. These people can be independent adjusters or work in-house as employees of an insurance company. It’s an interesting job that lets you work in a variety of environments that is different every day. To become an insurance adjuster in Alberta, you first need to get your Level 1 Alberta Adjuster License.

There are many ways you can prepare for your Alberta Insurance Council (AIC) Independent Adjuster Level 1 exam. PNC Learning offers an online Alberta Adjuster Course to prepare you for the exam.

ALBERTA LEVEL 1 ADJUSTER EXAM

Once you complete the course, you are ready to write your Level 1 Adjusters exam with the AIC. You can register for this by creating an account on the AIC portal and following the steps shown on their website.

FIND AN ADJUSTER JOB

After you pass the exam, you are qualified to work as an independent adjuster. All that is left to do now is apply for jobs at independent adjusting firms and receive hands-on training.

As an independent adjuster, you are always going from place to place investigating all different types of losses. It is not a job for everyone but if you have the right personality for it, it can be very interesting and rewarding both financially and otherwise.
