For many people looking to get started in the insurance industry in Ontario, cost is a major concern. Whether it’s in the cost of RIBO 1 study materials, the RIBO exam fees, or the license registration fees, many students want to know what they are and whether they can afford it.

With the RIBO 1 online course, we do our best to make it as accessible as possible with payment plans and other arrangements to suit each student’s needs and budget. But what we can’t control are the RIBO exam fees and other costs.

Because of the cost of administering and marking the exams, RIBO charges a fee to all those who wish to write the exam to help cover costs.

HOW MUCH IS THE RIBO EXAM FEE?

As of the writing of this post, the RIBO exam fee is $180 and paid directly to RIBO when you’re registering for the exam. This fee is payable by cheque or money order with your name printed on the back of the cheque or money order. As for the payee name, you can make the cheque or money order payable to “RIBO”.

Please note that RIBO will not accept post-dated cheques or credit cards for the payment of exam fees. If you don’t have a cheque book, you can go to the bank or post office to arrange a money order.

RIBO EXAM FEE REFUNDS

Any exam fees paid to RIBO are refundable if you contact them at least seven (7) days prior to the scheduled exam date. If you don’t show up on exam day or don’t give them 7 days notice, there are no refunds. And if you want to choose another exam date, it’ll cost another $180.

REWRITES

Rewrites of the RIBO exams are also $180 each time.
